Caster – Lydonia Chronicles: Music Video Contest

mega_ran

To celebrate the upcoming release of Caster Episode 2, I have asked famed video game rapper Random (aka Mega Ran) (www.megaran.com) to record a new theme:

Caster – Random (right click to Save As to your desktop).

I am looking to you awesome player/game videographers to put a sweet Caster vid to this score. So I am holding a competition to create a dynamite music video to accompany the theme song. The competition starts today and lasts through the end of July.  I will choose several finalists and let Caster enthusiasts vote on a winner!

Winner Receives:

  • Custom made Caster t-shirt
  • Piece of original Caster artwork
  • Credit in the game
  • Notoriety of having their music video used as promotional material and the intro for the iPhone version of the game.

Qualified Entrants Receive:

  • Caster iPhone or desktop wallpaper

Rules:

  • You must only use Caster art or other art that you have a license to use.
  • You may add additional sound effects, but they should not obscure the base music track.
  • Keep it clean / family friendly.
  • Use the entire song.
  • Use the Caster title in the first part of the video.

Suggestions:

  • Fast action.
  • Showing off the different attacks and abilities in the game.
  • Something that fits with the song.
  • Please use a high quality video compression scheme that is a fairly standard format.

When you have something ready that you’d like to submit, just e-mail me a link to where I can download the video (like a file share website) or write me to obtain access to my FTP server.

And that’s it!  Have fun!  I’m excited to see what you come up with!

Let me know if you have any questions:

  1. Great! Caster episode 2 is coming soon, and I get to use Sony Vegas after 6 months of it being forgotten ;) )!

About the second episode, I hope it will be harder than the first one: in “extreme”, only the first level was decently hard (but that’s just because you can’t go fast yet and your gun is still really slow and you have to aim perfectly with it because you don’t have the blast or auto-aim yet), after this, you go that fast that you can pick up all the “big bubbles” and go the end, but even if you want to kill the ennemies it’s too easy too, you just have to always run fast so the ennemies can’t hit you.
Only the last level was a bit hard too (but all I did was moving around and maintaining the left click with the auto-aim).
Also, I could buy everything from the shop when I was only at 3/4 of the game.

So, I don’t hope that you nerf the things you can buy from the shop because that’s fun, but maybe the ennemies could be more numerous or hit a lot more. Also a great things would be that some ennemies don’t shoot where you are but where you’re gonna be if you still go in this way.

I forgot to say how you can go very fast and so being able to collect the bubbles without having to fight, just in case you didn’t notice: simply by running and jumping at the same time.

Thanks for the feedback. There have been adjustments made. (The iPhone version has a lot of them already). And the next episode will have some fun challenges.

    Thanks!
